In 2017 I retired from my management position with the United States Postal Service after a thirty-one year career. I am now starting a new chapter of my life which consists of learning new things and making new friends (human and animal alike) as I travel across the United States.

My hobbies include reading, embroidery, cooking, crafts, musical theatre, and writing. I am a very quiet person who does not smoke, drink, or do drugs. My friends would say I am fun, positive, and get things done.

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for animals. When I was a little girl, I owned the sweetest sounding yellow canary named Petey as well as a loving poodle named Coco. In the years since, I’ve raised other birds, dogs, and animals (see Experience below). One day when I have exhausted my desire for travel, I will settle down again and own a dog or two, a few chickens, and maybe a goat.

Until then, I look forward to where the road takes me and the adventures I’ll find!

As a single mother who raised two children, worked full-time, built our home, and cared for many types of animals, I am fully confident I can address any situation that may arise while housesitting. I am very competent when it comes to running a household or taking care of pets.

When my children were young, we were fortunate to live on five acres which allowed us to have horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, cats, and dogs. Living in a rural area also gave me experience with handling the challenges of wildlife such as bobcats, mountain lions, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, spiders, rattle snakes, etc. That said, not much scares me.

While I am just starting my adventure with TrustedHousesitters, I have cared for the homes and pets of many friends and family over the years. Mostly recently, I travelled to Ireland with my daughter to house/pet sit for a month around Christmastime. We had the responsibility of caring for two dogs, two cats, and two chickens. It was a wonderful trip which you can read about on my blog.
